20 people from across the Firm, along with family members and rescue dogs, walked 30km from Bingley Station along the Leeds Liverpool Canal to Park Square in Leeds City Centre on Saturday 13 July.
Although the Team experienced broken trainers and sore feet during the nine hour walk, a total of £2,500 was raised for the mental health charity through sponsorship and donations.
The funds raised by Blacks will help Leeds Mind in its mission to support people with mental health difficulties through services such as counselling and employment support, as well as activities throughout the Leeds area.
Dave Paterson, Partner and Head of the CSR Team at Blacks, said: “We’re really proud of everyone who took part and helped raise money for our chosen charity.
“At Blacks we think it’s important to open up conversations around mental health to help end the stigma surrounding it and we know that the money raised will help those in need of Leeds Mind’s support services.
“We’d also like to say a special thanks to Harrogate Spring Water for donating water for the walk, Tesco Express for providing energy bars, and Whitehall Dog Rescue for letting us borrow four of their dogs.”
Charli Brunning, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Leeds Mind, added: “We are so grateful for the support of Blacks and the fundraising efforts they’ve gone to. This is a fantastic amount and will help us to continue supporting people facing mental health difficulties across the Leeds area.
“We’re really enjoying working with Blacks and can’t wait to see what other fundraising events they’ve got up their sleeves. They always have a smile on their faces and their dedication will make a huge difference to the people who use our services.”
