Could you help make a difference to the life chances of young people?

Could you help make a difference to the life chances of young people ….

…. and develop your own professional skills? By volunteering as a school governor, you can do both.

Wellspring is a successful and growing Multi-Academy Trust –  a charitable, values-driven organisation which is ethically driven, committed to doing what is best for children and young people, schools and communities and improving outcomes and life chances for all our pupils.  We currently have 15 academies across Yorkshire and the Humber, including a number of special schools which cater for a wide range of special needs. We are committed to raising the expectations and ambitions for every young person in our care, whatever their starting point.

School governors have an extremely rewarding and proactive role, being part of a governing body which has three main responsibilities:

  • Establishing the academy’s vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding leaders to account for the academy’s educational performance
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the academy.

Governors have the opportunity to learn more about life in a school and to help drive social inclusion, cohesion and mobility.

By becoming a governor you’d be joining the biggest volunteer group in the country – more than 300,000 people like you are already serving governors/trustees.
