HEAL Exercise Class Assistant – gym and circuits class suitable for people with a range of conditions
As a volunteer you will support and assist class instructor in ensuring safe and effective participation in a group exercise class suitable for people with a range of medical conditions, most commonly musculoskeletal conditions. You will support class instructor to ensure all participants are performing proper technique when performing specific exercises in a gym based setting. You will help participants follow their exercise programme and demonstrate safe operation of gym equipment. You will also help with completion of registers, collecting monies and form filling.
Benefits to the volunteer: experience working with people living with a range of medical conditions who have specific exercise considerations. Experience assisting a class under the supervision of an experienced Level 3 Exercise Referral Instructor. Experience working within a local authority exercise referral scheme. Ideally suited to a physiotherapy or sports science student with an interest in Exercise Referral.
