The West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the 2017 Raising the Bar Awards.
Now in its fifth year the Raising The Bar Awards honour those in the West and North Yorkshire business community as well as the Chamber’s extensive network of members who go above and beyond to supporting their local community.
Entrants in the awards will be shortlisted for their work on the economy, environment, community and education as well as an overall winner that is announced on the evening of the awards ceremony.
On the success of the awards, Chamber Business Services Manager Carolyn Townsley said,
“With continued support from sponsors and our core partner Provident Financial Group, we have been able to honour the businesses that have gone above and beyond with their work within the community. Giving a spotlight to those most deserving is what Raising the Bar is all about, and we are eager to hear the stories of this year’s entrants.”
Last year’s overall winners Ucan recycling explain why Raising the Bar is more than just an awards event and the continued benefits of not only entering but their work in the community as a whole.
“Being presented with the award as the overall winner at last years’ Raising the Bar awards was a very proud moment for us all at IT re-use specialists, Ucan Recycling. It felt like a pat on the back to receive external recognition of the work we do with those that volunteer on the back to work scheme.”
“We are pleased to say that this recognition has opened several doors in all areas: For instance, the exposure led us to work with other organisations and charities that help people back to work and increased our network to help volunteers go on to find permanent work.”
