Nine new starters have been appointed at Leeds-based City living specialist Morgans, bolstering its office support team and rentals and sales divisions.
Holly Petterson and Cristina Harney join as receptionists, Matthew Kendrick, Jenny Sowerby and Phoebe Edwards join as property managers and Reece Burd has been appointed as an accounts administrator. Experienced rentals negotiator Lewis Williams and sales coordinator Laura Adams bolster the 12 strong sales and lettings team, and James Bruce will work as both a rentals and sales negotiator specialising in developing new business.
Managing director Jonathan Morgan says: “Last summer we took on five new starters and the growth in our business has meant that we have been able to create even more new jobs at both our City centre and Headingley offices where business is up by around 10% in comparison to the same quarter last year.
“The residential property market continues to gain momentum, especially in Leeds City centre where ongoing significant investment in new commercial developments, infrastructure and the retail and leisure offering is inevitably attracting more tenants, owner occupiers and property investors to the core of the City.
“Leeds has also just been named as one of the year’s top European destinations by the major travel guide Lonely Planet, and was praised for its confidence and culture, which is another feather in the cap that will no doubt help to raise our profile even further.”
The Guide reported that Leeds is one of the fastest-growing cities in the UK and that it is the glitzy embodiment of rediscovered northern self-confidence. It state that a decade and a half of redevelopment has seen the city centre transform from near-derelict mill town into a vision of 21st-century urban chic, with skyscraping office blocks, glass-and-steel waterfront apartment complexes and renovated Victorian shopping arcades.
Morgans manages the largest rentals portfolio of apartments in the City which range in price from £500 to over £2,500 per calendar month and the firm has enjoyed its best quarter since 2011 in terms of apartment sales. Morgans also has a dedicated corporate arm, dealing with businesses relocating staff to Leeds, and a highly experienced sales division which is currently marketing a range of City centre homes suitable for owner occupiers, corporate organisations and investors that range in price from £95,000 to over £700,000.
