Teams from law firm Schofield Sweeney will be taking part in two events this month to raise funds for Simon on the Streets and Kirkwood Hospice.
On the 24th September, Schofield Sweeney are delighted to be sponsoring the Kirkwood Hospice Colour Rush at Oakwell Hall. A team of lawyers and trainees will complete the 5k course raising funds to support the Huddersfield-based hospice. Whether at the hospice, or at home, the staff at Kirkwood make sure that those in their care have the best quality of life possible.
Then on the 28th September a team will be Sleeping with Simon, spending a night out in the open to get a better understanding of the issues that the homeless face on a day to day basis. Simon on the Streets is one of the firm’s chosen charities of the year, they offer street-based support for those in need. Working across, Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield they provide front-line emotional and practical support to those who need it. The Sleep Out takes place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
“As we start getting into the colder days and even colder nights, it really hits you just how vulnerable those faced with sleeping rough are. Simon on the Streets and other homeless charities, do amazing and very challenging work. We are delighted, (and nervous!) to be taking part in the event and continuing to support their work.” Ann-Marie Keighley, Marketing Manager, Schofield Sweeney
“I have entered the Colour Rush, as part of my “get fit at 50” campaign, and to raise money for the Hospice, which does such a brilliant job in caring for the ill in Kirklees. I am doing the race with my youngest daughter Emma, and am looking forward to being well and truly painted for a great cause.” Diana Walker, Partner, Schofield Sweeney
“I have known people that have benefitted from the great care that Kirkwood Hospice offer and therefore want to raise money for such a worthy charity and also believe the Colour Rush will be a fun activity where I get to see work colleagues looking very silly and covered in paint! What more can you want from an event?” SallyAnn Masih, Conveyancer, Schofield Sweeney
