Citizens Advice Bradford & Airedale and Bradford Law Centre service is governed and managed locally but with the benefit of being part of a large and influential national organisation. We are looking for trustees to sit on our trustee board and help steer the service.
We provide information, advice and advocacy services to the people of Bradford Metropolitan District. We provide a wide range of advice services including Debt, Welfare Benefits, Employment, Immigration. Advice is provided from 4 main offices, over 60 weekly outreach locations (GP surgeries, Children’s Centres and village halls) and over the telephone. The bureau is a member of Citizens Advice, holds the Advice Quality Standard quality mark and has been awarded the Specialist Quality Mark. We have a budget of over £2,000,000, over 60 paid staff and over 80 volunteers who work with us.
The CAB is a voluntary organisation. All volunteers are fully trained and supported by a paid staff structure.
We need people from Bradford District who have a clear understanding of the needs of the local area to help us manage and develop this much-needed service.
We are an equal opportunities employer and strive to achieve diversity in all that we do.
As well as Trustees we are also recruiting a chair for our trustee board. We are seeking someone who can provide leadership and chair our bi-monthly board meetings. Responsibilities include supervision of senior staff and ensuring that the trustee board provides long term strategic management of the organisation. Experience of the role of trustee and understanding of Citizens Advice tasks in the community will be an advantage.
