Are you taking part in the Chamber’s Raising the Bar Pledge Campaign this year? If so, we hope that our cause strikes a chord with you.
The Swan Song Project is a unique Yorkshire-based songwriting charity. We help terminally ill and bereaved people to write and record their own original song free of charge. Demand has grown, with so many suffering bereavement during the pandemic.
The songwriting process is deeply therapeutic and allows people to reflect on their lives, process emotions and create a unique legacy. It has a profound impact on the people we work with and their families. For example, a young participant who wrote a song about her late father after he died suddenly, said having the song sung to her “felt like he was really there, giving me a big hug and I just cannot describe the feeling.”
Your support will help us to continue our work: celebrating lives, making memories and leaving legacies. Even a small donation will make a big impact. £10, for example, will enable us to send CD copies of someone’s Swan Song, their musical legacy, in the post to share with and often surprise their loved ones.
Our free services, from our songwriting sessions for terminally ill and bereaved people to our online Thursday evening singing group open to all, may be helpful for colleagues at your business and their networks across England.
