Virtual Buddying Volunteer

Are you kind, committed and fun?

Could you become a friend to a person with disabilities?

You will help someone develop their independence, boost confidence, discover new interests and – most importantly – have fun!

You do not need to have any previous experience.

If you’re enthusiastic, keen to meet new people and excited to build new friendships, becoming a buddy is the volunteering opportunity for you.

You will be matched with a disabled person based on your shared hobbies, interests and communication style to meet virtually and build a friendship. You could catch up about your week, or do activities together, such as; an online dance class, watching a film, crafting, gaming, gardening or baking.

“We weighed out the baking ingredients together and I was able to help [her] do it over video, it was nice to feel like we were doing it together.” – Current buddying volunteer.

If you are fun, enthusiastic, enjoy interacting with others and are a skilled communicator, we’d love to hear from you!

Your time is precious, and this is a really flexible volunteer role (around an hour a week) that can be worked to fit around your other commitments. You will be provided with full training for your role. We are here to support you to make your buddying match a success!

Sense is committed to providing equality of opportunity for everyone we work with. Everyone’s contribution is valued, and we welcome applications from people from all sections of the community who share our values and belief in our mission.
