Bid consultancy Onto the Page has launched a new initiative to celebrate the team’s successes and give something back to the natural environment at the same time.
During the Covid lockdowns, our team members realised how much we appreciate nature – being able to get out regularly and enjoy our local green spaces has been hugely important to all of us.
And we’re always looking for ways to minimise and offset the environmental impact of the printed documents we generate as we support multiple clients with their bids and tenders.
So in April 2021 we launched our new initiative – for every bid we win for one of our clients, we’re making a donation to the World Land Trust so they can plant a tree on our behalf. The World Land Trust works on reforestation projects with partners in countries around the world, planting and protecting new trees where they’re needed most.
We kick-started our new scheme by counting up all our bid wins for 2020 and the first quarter of 2021, getting things off to a flying start by making a donation to help plant 54 new trees.
And an enviable win rate of 80% has meant our latest donation for wins in the last three months has just funded another 18 trees.
Knowledge and Content Manager Kate Gregory, who came up with the idea, said:
“It’s a really great feeling to know that at the same time we’re helping our clients by winning them new business, we’re also helping the environment.
“Now when we celebrate our wins, we’re also celebrating helping to restore a vital part of nature.
“So far our donations have been used to support projects in countries as far afield as Borneo, Brazil, Kenya and India, and we’re looking forward to funding lots more trees.”
