The Arts Society Leeds central free lecture

The Arts Society is a leading arts education charity. We have a global network of Societies which connects people to the arts and each other.

Our members enjoy monthly lectures on all aspects of the arts given by accredited lecturers who love to share their specialist knowledge.

Members of The Arts Society have the opportunity to get involved in a whole range of volunteering projects that contribute to and preserve our artistic heritage and help foster a love of the arts in the young.

Our organisation is active in grant giving ensuring the future of the arts in our country.

The belief that the arts have the potential to enrich peoples’ lives is at the heart of everything we do.

We are planning to open an evening Society in Leeds. We are looking for volunteers to help set and run the Society. Running a Society and being able to open up the world of the arts to others is extremely rewarding. If you enjoy a challenge, like meeting new people and having fun whilst learning new things we would love to hear from you.

In order to learn more about The Arts Society and to get a taste of what we have to offer why not join us for a drink and a free lecture on 17th October 2019. BBC Antique Roadshow Expert and The Arts Society Accredited Lecturer, Susan Rumfitt will give her lecture ‘Love, Power and Scandal, A Royal Jewel for Every Occasion’. Susan will guide us through the history of British Royal Jewellery from Henry VIII to the present day looking at various key pieces including some that have been associated with scandal within the Royal Family.

The event will be held in the Henry Moore Room of Leeds Art Gallery. Doors will open at 6.00pm when drinks will be served and the lecture will commence at 6.30pm.

Places for the event can be booked by visiting https://leeds-evening.eventbrite.co.uk or by calling 020 7430 0730.
